A program of Kentucky Humanities, the Kentucky Book Festival is a celebration of reading, writing, and publishing that takes place each fall. The 2026 festival will be held on Saturday, November 7, 2026, at Joseph-Beth Booksellers in Lexington Green.

Festival events are designed to connect book lovers and authors, spark conversation, and empower readers by providing access to new books and opportunities to learn more about writing in a fun, supportive environment. It’s the biggest bookish celebration in Kentucky! Discover new books, explore the world of writing and publishing, make memories with family and friends, and celebrate the joy of reading.

This event is FREE and open to the public.

Mariama J. Lockington has over thirteen years of experience working as a K-12 educator in the nonprofit sector and currently works for the University of Kentucky’s College of Education. She enjoys teaching hands-on writing workshops and speaking with young people about their stories. Learn More
